Modern Intentions is a furniture, accessories, and lighting store established in 2014. We are currently an online only store, with future plans for expansion. We look for authentic, unique pieces that showcase both art and function. Our products are hand selected and ever evolving. The brands that we work with are known for quality and sustainability; connected by a love for innovative, fresh designs, as well as modern classics.

Who We Are

Modern Intentions is an authorized seller of every brand that we sell, and we only sell licensed authentic designs from original manufacturers. Being in the design field ourselves, we view knock-offs as being unfair to the original designer.

 Where Do We Ship?

We deliver with in the contiguous United States. For shipping requests to Hawaii, Alaska, or countries outside the US, please contact us at info@modernintentions.com and we will try our best to accommodate your request. Unfortunately, we cannot ship to PO Boxes.

How Will My Order Be Shipped?

Most of our orders ship via UPS, however some of our larger pieces are delivered via a truck delivery service suggested by the manufacturer. All deliveries are curbside service unless specified otherwise. Curbside means that your order will be delivered to your door and then you are responsible for bringing it inside. White Glove delivery service (delivery inside), is available upon special request and may incur an additional fee. How Long Will My Order Take To Get To Me ?

We get to work and process your order as soon as we receive it.  From there, delivery time varies depending on the manufacturer.  You can view this information on the product page (of the item that you are interested in) under Additional Information -> Shipping Info.

For our manufactures using UPS, UPS Ground Shipping is the default. Expedited UPS delivery is available upon special request and may incur an additional fee. For some of our larger pieces of furniture, items are custom made upon ordering then shipped from overseas, so expedited delivery may not be able.  To request Expedited delivery service, please contact us at info@modernintentions.com.

How Much Will Shipping Cost Me?

For orders over $250, we offer free ground shipping within the contiguous United States. The best way to calculate shipping costs for orders under $250:

  1. Add the item to your cart
  2. Go to Checkout
  3. Fill in your shipping address
  4. Shipping will automatically calculate and show up at the bottom of your cart*

We want our customers to love their purchase! Please inspect your item(s) immediately upon delivery. If there is a problem with your order, call us at +1 231-715-1248, or email us at info@modernintentions, right away.

Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Colors and textures may render differently depending on your individual monitors settings, therefore we are not liable for variations.
For this reason, color, fabric and wood samples are recommended prior to ordering. To request a sample, contact us at info@modernintentions.com.

Non-returnable items: Gift cards, Some furniture and lighting (Noted: This item is final sale and not eligible for return. or This item is custom made and not eligible for return.)

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer, unless specified by us. (Example: If your item was damaged or defective, not caused by the shipping company, we may have you return your purchase to the manufacturer.)

Refunds (if applicable)

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. Please inspect your purchase immediately upon delivery. If there is a problem with your order, call us at +1 231-715-1248, or email us at info@modernintentions within three (3) days of receipt.

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you. If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Cancellation Policy

If you are interested in rug, fabric, wood and/or color samples, most of our brands do offer this option. Need design help?

If you are unsure about how something will look in your space, we’d love to help! We provide Interior Design services. Usually, this service is complimentary when using Modern Intentions products and will be discussed before beginning. Complimentary design services include space planing, 2D and/or 3D renderings,  as well as expert advice. Other interior design services are available for an additional fee.  Just fill out an Interior Design Questionnaire Form (indicate that your are interested Modern Intentions products) and our design professional, EMILY▴DESIGN, will get to work for you.
